A. Craig Eddy Sensei
In Memoriam
A. Craig Eddy Sensei

Our community has recently had a heartbreaking loss with the death of Craig Eddy Sensei, a dedicated practitioner of the path of Aikido, a devoted student of Mitsugi Saotome Shihan since Sensei's earliest days in the United States, and a member of our community for nearly 25 years. A strong supporter of Aikido Schools of Ueshiba since its inception, Craig was a principal force in the reshaping of a viable ASU structure for the future and was serving on its initial board of directors. Concurrently, he took a central role in helping Saotome Sensei and Patty Saotome Sensei through essential life transitions. Craig's achievements and contributions beyond the world of Aikido were also remarkable and generous, as cardiac surgeon, attorney, hospital administrator and father. Craig was awarded the Ueshiba Juku designation from Saotome Shihan.

As significantly, he has been a friend of the heart to so many of us, for years and decades, touching countless friends and acquaintances with his insight, generosity and warmth. We at Aikido of Missoula grieve the loss of this wonderful human being, a man who truly tried to live the principles at the heart of Aikido.
